Our Board Members

President:
Tracey Parent

Tracey Parent is the founder and President of The Loudoun Foundation. Tracey has a background in Telecommunications and Real Estate and also served in the Virginia Air National Guard in the medical field.  Through her ten year career in Telecom and Real Estate, Tracey used her professional resources to network and partner with many competent and equally passionate individuals in order to create The Loudoun Foundation. As a humanitarian she has organized medical missions and implemented programs in Haiti, and then decided she wanted to create an organization committed to her own community.  Since 2004, she has developed and facilitated programs that impact Loudoun residents, charities and businesses alike.

Through the foundation, Tracey collaborated with major organizations to organize a year- long project to assist and provide medical care for those impacted by Hurricane Katrina by opening a free clinic and a tent school for children in Mississippi.  And while her focus continues to be mentoring projects and programs for children at home in Loudoun, she is committed to making an impact globally wherever and whenever she can. Tracey has been a resident of Loudoun since 1999 and lives today in Leesburg. She is a mother of three (two boys and a foster-daughter) with a tremendous zest for life and a sick sense of humor!

Secretary:
Kristi Stavrou

Kristi Stavrou has been a Loudoun County VA resident for over 10 years. Wife of Mark Stavrou and mother of two young children Annabella, 5, and Jake, 3, Kristi is also one of Loudoun County’s Top Producing Realtors, working in Ashburn’s Long & Foster’s Office. She volunteered to join the Steering Committee of The Loudoun Foundation’s Summer Music Fest before the first season began in 2004. Kristi was then asked to join the Board of Directors at the end of the first successful season of the Loudoun Summer Music Fest because of her “can-do” attitude, energy and strong work ethic. Kristi was musically-inclined during her childhood, performing in local and Off-Broadway theatre in New York, where she grew-up. Volunteering on the Board of The Loudoun Foundation and participating in the summer-long music festival is a way for her to give back to her chosen hometown community of Loudoun County, VA, of which she is so proud to be a part.

Ali Abbasi

A nuclear engineer by educational training, Ali Abbasi is now the President and CEO of a large executive suite in Richmond Virginia and has extensive experience in operating non-profit organizations. Since the inception of The Loudoun Foundation he has held an advisory position on the board and has offered his experience at many levels. Ali lives in Goochland Virginia with his wife and their troublesome pooch Havi.

Angela Abbasi

Angie serves in an advisory role on the board as well. She too has an extensive background in working with non-profit organizations, large community events and fundraisers. She has served as chairperson for the Commonwealth Polo Match, the Strawberry Hill Races and Princess Ann Hunt. She also serves on the board of Goochland Fellowship and has been instrumental in helping develop the Loudoun Summer Music Fest. Mrs. Abbasi lives with her husband, dog and horses in Goochland Virginia.

Thomas Simmons

Tom Simmons was born fully grown from Zeus's thigh at the beginning of time. He took little advantage of his early connections and worked a series of odd jobs, including cleaning the Augean Stables (yuck), while he waited to inherit the position of Chief of All The Gods from his Father. (Apparently, there was some confusion about exactly what the word "immortal" meant.) Unfortunately, the Olympian deities fell out of favor and job opportunities fell to nil so Tom immigrated to America. There was some additional confusion over here about what the word "hostiles" meant but it was soon cleared up and most of Tom's hair grew back. Tom finally found his calling as a parker of cars, or Traffic Control Engineer as some call it, and he can be found directing traffic at the Loudoun Summer Music Fest most Sundays, where he holds the title of "Hey, Kid!"

Ok---the real BIO now…

Tom Simmons is the owner and creative director of The Thomas Simmons Agency, a strategic advertising and marketing firm in Loudoun County. The agency represents consumer, business-to-business, high tech and public affairs clients in the Northern Virginia area. In addition to being a member of the Board of Directors for The Loudoun Foundation, Tom serves as the Vice President of Communications for the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce and sits on the board of the Committee For Dulles. Tom is a member of the Leadership Loudoun Class of 2007 as part of the team attempting to bring a world-class performing arts center to Loudoun County by the year 2020. Tom is also a member of the Lovettsville-Waterford Ruritan Club, a community-service organization in western Loudoun.
